I think JD dozer are liebherr a german company. I think John Deere makes a good dozer seeing more around me all the time. If your going to doze in heavy timber I wouldn't want the 6 way blade its aright for dirt work and small timber. I always heard them called brush guard, don't know if thats the right name what JD uses. The one we're looking at doesn't have them, but we think we need them. I always thought they were called limb risers, or sweeps, but I can't find them on the Deere parts website. The amount of water and rainfall you, probably makes them much larger than I'm used too. Really, for much tree work, I've gotten to where I prefer a trackhoe. If your going to be doing quite a bit of work in and around trees, then the risers would be a consideration. Have done that type of work with smaller units than that. Think it would handle that? Maybe thats not as light duty as I think. Pushing back spoils after excavating ditches, fixing waterways, building swails, mostly easy stuff. Not sure those would be big enough for dirt work. My bil has been running a 700 or 750 pushing trees, he likes the hydro over gears.
